Join us online from 23rd-25th June, 2025 for the UNECE Expert Workshop on Mitigating Ammonia Emissions from Agriculture.
Background
This hybrid workshop, organised by TFRN and hosted by the European Commission, will focus on the revision of the UNECE 'Guidance document on preventing and abating ammonia emissions from agricultural sources', which was first published in 2014. It was also published, for wider dissemination, as 'Options for Ammonia Mitigation: Guidance from the UNECE Task Force on Reactive Nitrogen' by Bittman et al. in 2014.
Over the last decade, this document has provided critical guidance to Parties to the UNECE Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP) and has also acted as a reference point for the National Emission Reduction Commitments Directive. However, a revision is now needed to account for the many advances in ammonia mitigation that have been achieved since 2014. Input to this workshop will also inform the ongoing revision of the Gothenburg Protocol.
Workshop details
The workshop will run from 13:30 CEST on Monday 23rd June until 13:00 CEST on Wednesday 25th June.
